he was an english comic actor and film maker who was "KING OF SILENT ERA".Chaplin became a worldwide icon of silent comedy.He is one the most important figure in film industry.
This man was born april 16 1889.he died at the age of 88.he started his acting career at the age of 8.his career span over 75 years.his dressing style was a black bowler hat,chaplin style moustache,baggy pants,over coat with only one button and shoes,a walking stick.

he acted in more than 100 films.his first movie was "making a living" released on 2nd feb 1914.he portrayed ADOLF HILTER in movie "THE GREAT DICTATOR".

he was FBI investigated chaplin to know wether he was giving any information about usa to adolf hitler of germany because hitler was born just 4 days before chaplin was born both came from poor background and rose to became world famous.FBI wanted chaplin to leave united states.he never accecpted his citizenship as united states.he then shifted to switzerland. till death he was there only. he meet mahatma gandhi.albert einsten.chaplin's own daughter acted as chaplin's mother in his biography "chaplin".

in 1972 chaplin received his first oscar award.he received standing ovation for 12 mins

  chaplin was awarded as knighthood by queen elizabeth-2finally chaplin breathed his last breath on dec 25th 1977. his body was stolen by some people for extortion of money.later his body was found after 11 weeks of his death. on march 1st 1978 his coffin was burried under 6 feet and concrete protection was made to avoid further robbing.
